Description: Home. When does a place start to feel like home? After we’ve cooked in Nana’s old pot and the aroma brings generational memories flooding back? After we meet our neighbors? After we find a quilting group? After the kids move back? After we start volunteering and getting plugged in? It happens differently to each of us. At some point we cross over from being a stranger to being known and loved by the people around us. Nestled within the surface of the sculpture are reflections and memories of home collected from community members. The sculpture embodies the Villages’ commitment to preserving nature and parks. It reflects the life, growth, and vibrancy of the community. It celebrates the life we have when we find our sense of belonging.
