The Village of Royal Palm Beach is holding its FIRST EVER Annual Village Photo Contest, beginning June 12, 2023  and closing to submissions at 11:59PM on October 31, 2023.

Picture a Place You Call Home!

Photographers of all ages and experience levels are invited to capture the beauty and charm of the Village of Royal Palm Beach as seen through the lens of your camera. We are looking for great shots of the Village's parks, businesses, architecture, community events, residents and visitors alike! Photos of pets and wildlife are welcome too! All submitted photos must feature a location within the limits of the Village of Royal Palm Beach. Photos submitted may be used by the Village for marketing and/or promotional purposes.

  • Landscapes/Parks
  • Sunsets
  • Community Events
  • Local Businesses
  • Pets in the Parks

Photo contest is open to residents, non-residents, and Village Employees.

How to enter:

  • Submit your high-resolution (minimum 2560 x 1980 pixels at 300 DPI) JPG, JPEG or PNG to: 2023 Photo Contest
    If the photo is taken with a cell phone make sure to submit it as ACTUAL SIZE.
  • Include contestant/photographer's name, location where the photo was taken (within Royal Palm Beach Village limits), photo title, and current email address and phone number.
  • Limit three (3) entries per contestant (only one (1) entry per contestant can win). Entries will be judged by a randomly selected committee. The selection committee will select three (3) winners, First, Second and Third place winners. Ten (10) additional photos will be selected by the Selection Committee for inclusion in the 2024 Village Calendar.
  • Winners will be announced via Facebook, Village website, and will be recognized at a meeting of the Village Council.

Recognition:
First, Second and Third Place Winners will be revealed at a Village Council meeting, receive a gift card ($100 for First Place, $50 for Second Place, and $25 for Third Place), and be recognized via Facebook and the Village's website. First Place will also receive a gift certificate for a one (1) year unlimited wash club membership at Mint Eco Car Wash plus a Mint Eco swag bag! The top three (3) photos will also be displayed in Village Hall for a period of one (1) year (12 months). The First Place Winner will also have their photo featured on the cover of the 2024 Village Calendar.

Contest Rules:

  • Picture a Place you Call Home! All of the photos submitted must be within Village of Royal Palm Beach jurisdictional limits . Any photos determined to have been taken outside of Village limits will be disqualified.
  • Photos must be submitted with photographer name, location of picture, and best email and phone number.
  • Photographers of all ages are welcome and encouraged to participate! Youth participants (those under the age of 18 years of age)  must have the consent from a parent or legal guardian.
  • Participants may submit up to three (3) photos, but are only eligible to win on one (1) submission.
  • If photos are taken via a cell phone, the photo must be submitted Actual Size. Images with resolution lower than the requested size will not enlarge and print clearly for framing, resulting in disqualification . Photo submitted must be high resolution with a minimum measurement of 2560 x 1980 pixels at 300 DPI.
  • Personnel from the I.S. Department and the Public Information Specialist will screen all entries for appropriate photo resolution and size.
  • Judges will consist of a randomly selected Selection Committee.
  • All photos will be accepted so long as the resolution and size requirements are met and so long as the photograph submitted is original work created by the entrant and the photo does not infringe on copyrights, trademarks, moral rights, privacy/publicity of a person or entity, and/or no other party has the rights to the photo.
  • Photos not received within the contest period will not be considered.
  • The Village of Royal Palm Beach reserves the right to change any of the rules for the contest as necessary. Rule changes will be announced via Facebook and the Village's website.

By submitting a photograph as part of the Village of Royal Palm Beach’s (“Village’s”) Picture a Place You Call Home! Photo Contest, Contestant represents and warrants to the Village that the photograph is his or her original work, that he or she has lawful usage rights to the photograph and will retain the copyright and all other rights in and to the photograph pursuant to 17 U.S.C. § 101, et. seq., except as otherwise stated herein. Contestant grants to the Village a royalty-free, worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable and non-exclusive license to reproduce, distribute, and or display two- or three-dimensional reproductions of the photograph in any manner whatsoever relating to any Village publication or event, including but not limited to, public display and reproduction on various Village media such as print ads, postcards, posters, brochures, applications, television programs and the Village website. Contestant expressly agrees that the Village may 1) alter images of the photograph as necessary to fit into reduced or enlarged format sizes, 2) use or publish the photograph on Village merchandise and commercial items at the sole discretion the Village and 3) use or publish the photograph on the Village’s website and social media at the sole discretion of the Village. Any photograph reproduced may or may not include a photographer credit. By submitting a photograph, Contestant agrees to indemnify, release, discharge, and hold harmless the Village, its employees, officers, directors, agents, and representatives from any and all claims, suits, losses, and damages, including attorneys' fees and costs and fees and costs on appeal, arising out or in any way related to your submission of a photograph and participation in this photo contest or any contest-related activities. Finally, Pursuant to 17 U.S.C. § 106A(e), Contestant expressly waives any rights that he or she may have under 17 U.S.C. §§ 101 et seq., including but not limited to 17 U.S.C. §§ 106, 106A, and 113, or any successor statute(s) or regulation(s).
